Yemisi Aribisala wins John Avery Award
Nigerian essayist and food memorist Yemisi Aribisala has emerged first black African to win the prestigious John Avery Award at the Andre Simon food and drink Book Awards held at the Goring Hotel. Aribisala won the award for her new book titled Longthroat memoirs : Soups sex and Nigerian Taste Buds Published by Cassava Republic.
